Generally, Austrian ski resorts are highly regarded. For one thing because of the familywarm character, the idyllic villages and the great hospitality.
Yet, this is not the only one cause. In this respect also the well prepared and maintained ski slopes and excellent trained ski teachers are a valued contribution.
For the Montafon area this is definitely true.
The ADAC, the german automobile club, publishes a yearly Skiguide with qualifications of alpine ski resorts. The table on this page contains information, derived from the year 2012 issue of their Skiguide.
Among the european ski resorts, the ADAC judges the Montafon valley as a the top of the bill , particularly in these categories:
- Advancement: No.1;
- Family-friendliness: No. 2;
- Diversity: No.2.

The Montafon valley is an very diverse area, with several large ski resorts; long decending slopes in the Hochjoch and Golm areas; sportively challenges at Silvreatta Nova; lots of fun for families in the Kristberg area; tremendous freestyling at the Nova Park, a renowned gastronomy and the largest joined ski area in this part of Austria. |
